AsureQuality is required to collect personal information to meet the requirements of the Resource Management (Freshwater Farm Plans) Regulations 2023 (external link) and will only share or publish information that the regulations require us to share or publish.
Collection, Storage and Use of personal information
To be considered for appointment a freshwater farm plans applicant must provide personal information in the freshwater farm application forms that are accessible form the freshwater farm plans website. Farm operators may provide personal information for communications between farm operator and AsureQuality. Referees may also provide personal information for the purposes of verifying claims made by a freshwater farm plans applicant.
Personal information collected will be viewable by the AsureQuality freshwater farm plans administrative team including independent contractors, regional council, and Ministry for the Environment.
Holding and sharing of personal information
Personal information will be held by AsureQuality in a national administrative list. Persons appointed to freshwater farm plans certifier and auditor roles must have their name published on a publicly available national list on the internet. This is a requirement of Schedule 2, Sections 6 and 13 of the Resource Management (Freshwater Farm Plans) Regulations 2023 (external link) . Additional personal information e.g., contact details will not be published unless a person chooses to have this information published with their name.
Use of personal information
AsureQuality will use the personal information provided to us for the purposes of the validation of identity, qualifications, and experience. This includes the assessment of the personal information against regulated appointment criteria, coordination of necessary national training and the appointment by a regional council. Farm operator and referee details will be used for the appropriate communications. A subset of the personal information will also be used for statistical and reporting purposes.
Note: the Resource Management (Freshwater Farm Plans) Regulations 2023 (external link) mandate that only a regional council can appoint a freshwater farm plans certifier or auditor, the regional council will be making this decision based upon the recommendation that they receive from AsureQuality. All personal information will be held in an AsureQuality system and shared with a regional council to assist the regional council with the appointment decision making process.
AsureQuality may change this policy from time to time, AsureQuality will post any changes to this policy on this page. The use of freshwater farm plans services after those changes are in effect, will be considered as an agreement to the revised policy.
Applicants and appointed freshwater farm plans certifiers and auditors have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information that AsureQuality holds about them, and to ask for it to be corrected if they think it is wrong.
